About Us
Dua Karahi & Grill is a new full-service Pakistani restaurant opening in Norcross, GA, serving authentic karahi and open-charcoal BBQ cuisine. Our kitchen is led by two Head Chefs with a combined 44 years of specialized experience in traditional Pakistani cooking techniques brought directly from Karachi, Pakistan.
The Role
We are looking for a highly organized and communicative Food Expeditor (Expo) / Dispatcher to serve as the critical bridge between our kitchen and our front-of-house team. In this "air traffic controller" role, you will orchestrate the flow of food, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards before it leaves the kitchen. You will monitor incoming orders, coordinate timing across our distinct cooking stations (Karahi and BBQ), and seamlessly hand off completed, accurate orders to the Food Runners for prompt delivery to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Monitor order screens/tickets continuously to track incoming orders, table assignments, and course timing.
- Coordinate actively between the Karahi, BBQ, and prep stations to ensure all components of a table's order are fired and completed simultaneously.
- Act as the final quality control checkpoint, inspecting every dish for accuracy, proper presentation, and correct portioning before it is dispatched to the dining room.
- Verify that all special requests and dietary restrictions have been accurately executed by the kitchen.
- Organize completed dishes on the pass and efficiently assign them to Food Runners, providing clear directions regarding table numbers and seat positions.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with both the Head Chefs and the service staff, relaying information about ticket times, sold out items, or any delays.
- Maintain a meticulously clean, organized, and fully stocked expo station throughout the shift, ensuring all necessary garnishes, sauces, and plates are ready.
- Assist in packaging takeout and to-go orders accurately during high-volume periods.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience as an expeditor, dispatcher, lead line cook, or high-volume server/runner is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to track multiple tables and tickets simultaneously without getting overwhelmed.
- Strong, commanding, yet respectful communication skills; you must be comfortable directing runners and speaking up to the kitchen team to keep orders on track.
- Laser-focused attention to detail, specifically regarding ticket accuracy, food quality, and presentation standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress, and loud kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long shifts and move quickly in a compact area.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
Compensation
- $15/hr + Tip Pool
