Title: Family Law Attorney
Location: Pearland, Angleton, OR League City
Compensation: $150K-$200K (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to provide counsel and representation to clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, advocate effectively in court, negotiate settlements, and guide clients through complex emotional and legal matters while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and domestic violence cases.

Provide clear, compassionate legal counsel to clients from initial consultation through case resolution.

Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents.

Represent clients at hearings, mediation, settlement conferences, and trials; appear before judges and other court personnel as required.

Conduct factual and legal research, analyze evidence, draft briefs, and develop case strategy.

Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and participate in alternative dispute resolution when appropriate.

Maintain timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and experts; keep accurate case files and billing records.

Collaborate with paralegals, investigators, and support staff to prepare strong cases and meet deadlines.

Ensure compliance with local court rules, ethical obligations, and continuing legal education requirements.

Assist with business development activities, client intake, and community outreach as needed.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Admission to practice in TX

5+ years of practicing experience in family law

Demonstrated litigation experience, including courtroom and hearing experience in family/domestic relations matters.

Strong knowledge of divorce, child custody, child support, and alimony law and procedures.

Excellent written and oral advocacy skills; ability to draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.

Skilled in negotiation, mediation, and client counseling with sensitivity to emotional and financial issues.

Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

High ethical standards, professionalism, and commitment to client confidentiality.

Familiarity with case management software, e-filing systems, and legal research tools.
