Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to support culinary creativity and efficiency
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and other appliances
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, portioning, and waste management
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Follow safety protocols during food production to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary environments with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Experience with dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in meal quality
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and serve team members
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
- Understanding of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and cleaning protocols
