Job Title: Experienced Litigation & Real Estate Paralegal
Location: Chicago, IL (Loop/Downtown area)
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person (Flex-schedule eligibility after onboarding)
Experience Level: 3+ years preferred
About Us
We are a premier, boutique law firm based in Chicago specializing in high-stakes real estate investment and corporate litigation. Operating as a tight-knit, sophisticated practice, we handle complex matters that require the agility of a niche firm and the precision of a large-scale operation. We pride ourselves on leveraging cutting-edge legal technology to maximize efficiency and deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptionally organized, tech-savvy, and proactive Paralegal to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes true ownership of their work. You will be a critical anchor for our litigation and transactional workflows, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Initially, this is a full-time, in-person position to ensure seamless onboarding and integration into our firm’s culture. Once you have fully demonstrated competence, mastery of our workflows, and autonomy in the role, we offer the opportunity to transition to a flexible hybrid/flex schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management & Tech Optimization: Maintain, organize, and optimize our digital files and workflows. You will serve as the primary administrator for our case management software.
- Litigation Support: Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas. Coordinate filings (e-filing) in state and federal courts, manage court calendars, and track critical deadlines.
- Real Estate & Corporate Support: Assist with contract review, title searches, closing documents, and corporate governance filings related to real estate investments.
- Proactive Document Management: Ensure all case files, correspondence, and evidence are meticulously indexed and readily accessible.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with specific exposure to civil/corporate litigation or real estate law strongly preferred.
- Tech Savvy: High digital literacy is non-negotiable. You must be deeply familiar with modern law practice management software. Direct experience with MyCase is highly preferred.
- Impeccable Organization: You possess an eagle eye for detail, master-level time management skills, and a zero-tolerance policy for missed deadlines.
- Proactive Work Style: You don't just wait for instructions; you anticipate case needs, spot potential bottlenecks before they happen, and bring solutions to the table.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- A tech-forward, streamlined working environment without the rigid bureaucracy of "Big Law."
- Clear path to a flexible/hybrid schedule once autonomous competence is established.
