Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces meticulously through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primer, base coats, clear coats, and specialty finishes using conventional spray guns and airless paint sprayers with precision and consistency.
- Perform surface repairs including dent removal, welding, and auto body refinishing to restore vehicles to factory standards.
- Operate power tools such as grinders, sanders, and buffing machines to achieve smooth, flawless finishes.
- Conduct auto restoration tasks by stripping old paint, repairing rusted areas, and ensuring all surfaces are properly prepped for painting.
- Use automotive buffing techniques to enhance paint shine and remove imperfections for a high-quality finish.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols including respiratory protection when handling paints and chemicals.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or equivalent in auto body repair and painting is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and auto glass replacement.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, sanders, spray guns, and other power tools essential for auto body refinishing.
- Knowledge of automotive surface preparation techniques including masking, sanding, and priming.
- Experience with automotive buffing, detailing, and auto painting processes that deliver professional results.
- Familiarity with welding techniques used in auto body repair is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy parts safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
