This full-time, contract opportunity offers the chance to serve as the dedicated RN for 1–2 school campuses, addressing a wide range of student health needs while fostering healthy, safe learning environments. You’ll work closely with students, staff, and administrators to provide expert care, education, and medical guidance from now through late spring.
In this role, adaptability is essential. You’ll be placed at the school(s) with the greatest need, and your flexibility between East Bank and West Bank placements will be highly valued by district leadership.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license required; BSN preferred but ASN accepted
- Proven experience as a school nurse (required)
- Confident in working with pediatric populations involving tracheostomy and g-tube care
- Skilled with diabetic management, IEP-related health care, screenings, and student medication administration
- Strong recordkeeping and documentation practices
- Experience delivering staff training and delegating health-related tasks
- Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fingerprinting and separate district drug screen required
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and deliver daily nursing care and chronic condition management for students ages Pre-K – 12
- Coordinate and complete health screenings, maintain accurate health records, and manage student medications
- Train and support non-medical staff in medical protocols as needed
- Communicate effectively with families, teachers, and administration regarding students’ health needs
- Foster a caring environment that prioritizes students’ well-being, emphasizing both preventative and responsive care
Pay for this role ranges from $28 to $40/hr, based on school nurse experience.
