Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, technical drawings, and manufacturing standards. The CNC Machinist will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality production and maintaining efficient workflow within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc controls preferred)
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining
- Utilize CAD and CAM software for programming and tooling adjustments
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to minimize downtime
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for various machining operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
- Assist with assembly processes and welding as needed for finished parts
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, especially with Fanuc controls
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing interpretation
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is a plus
- Skilled in SolidWorks, CAD software, and CAM programming for toolpath creation
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining tools, hand tools, power tools, and tooling management
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and bore gauges accurately
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and lean manufacturing practices
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions and tolerances
- Experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines with Fanuc controls preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts is advantageous but not mandatory
