Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Execute painting tasks using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray equipment for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute surface treatments and color schemes
- Conduct surface repairs including masonry, stucco application, drywall finishing, and restoration work to ensure smooth and durable finishes
- Apply various coatings such as paint, stain, varnish, or industrial finishes while following safety regulations and using appropriate respiratory protection
- Perform site-specific surface preparation including sanding, scraping, masking, and fixture installation to meet project specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools like hand tools and scaffolding equipment while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Proficiency in residential painting techniques along with commercial and industrial spray painting methods
- Strong knowledge of color theory for effective visual color comparison and matching
- Skilled in surface preparation including plastering, caulking, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, masonry, and concrete finishing
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, welding equipment, and scaffolding safely
- Familiarity with construction site experience including blueprint reading and renovation processes
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting surfaces and respiratory protection measures
- Basic math skills for measuring areas accurately and estimating material needs
- Experience with fixture installation, maintenance tasks, remodeling projects, welding basics or handyman work is a plus
