Position: Master Teacher
(As need based upon the school having Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long-term Substitutes)

Job Description:
1. The Master Teacher will attend the required time slot at the New Teacher Academy.
2. The Master Teacher will attend and participate in the first and third evening follow-up sessions of the New Teacher Academy.
3. The Master Teacher will work with Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long-term Substitutes.
4. The Master Teacher will provide training sessions and mentor teachers in the Program.
5. The Master Teacher will model instructional techniques and provide instructional support to all staff.
6. The Master Teacher will also meet once a month after the normal work hours with all the new teachers, Teachers in Residence, and Long-Term Substitutes.
7. The Master Teacher will keep records and submit required documentation at the end of each month to the Central Office designee.
Qualifications:
- Valid WV Teaching Certificate with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills to develop on going, sustained engagement with teachers.
- Strong background knowledge of collecting and interpreting educational data for all
subject areas.
- Minimum of "Accomplished" on instructional sections of evaluations for past 3 yrs.
- Demonstrated growth on benchmarks/assessments
- Letter of recommendation from principal
- Must Attend mentor professional development sessions
- Masters Degree, (Preferred)
- National Board Certificate, (Preferred)
- Master Mentoring Certificate, (Preferred)
- 5 yrs. Experience, (Preferred)
Salary: $5000.00 Supplemental Contract for work completed outside the regular school day)
Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with school administrators to assist with the orientation of Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long-term Substitutes.
- Demonstrate lessons for teachers, as needed.
- Model/teach instructional strategies, as needed
- Model/teach classroom management strategies, as needed.
- Conduct professional development sessions for Teachers in the New Teacher Induction Program, Teachers in Residence, and Long-term Substitutes.
- Observe classroom teaching skills and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain documentation and evidence of these activities through logs, sign-in sheets, etc. and be able to evaluate program success.
- Act as a liaison between teachers/school/county.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, county policy and administrative regulations.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Be a role model in all aspects of professional conduct.
- Keep all discussions regarding assigned teachers confidential
- Provide information to administrators as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school/county offices.
