Duties :
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records.
- Prepare patients for eye exams by performing preliminary tests.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist clinicians during eye examinations by setting up equipment, sterilizing tools using aseptic techniques, and managing medical records electronically through EMR systems.
- Support optical operations by helping patients select eyewear and processing retail sales accurately .
- Train new contact lens wearers on insertion and removal of contact lenses.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a medical office or optometic clinic is highly preferred .However, we are happy to train any candidate with the zeal and positive attitude to work.
- Effective communication skills for front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and assisting with retail sales transactions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security are maintained at all times.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment that may include pediatrics or diverse patient populations; retail sales experience is a bonus for supporting eyewear sales initiatives.
