CDL Class A Driver – OSOW (Over-Size/Overweight) Loads
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to transport oversize and overweight (OSOW) loads. This role requires specialized knowledge of load securement, route planning, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will hold all required endorsements, including Doubles/Triples, and have a proven track record of safe, efficient hauling.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle hauling oversize/overweight loads
- Plan and follow designated routes in accordance with OSOW permits and restrictions
- Coordinate with pilot/escort vehicles when required
- Perform proper load securement in compliance with DOT regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Maintain accurate logs, permits, and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, escorts, and customers
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws
- Adjust driving techniques based on weather, terrain, and load characteristics
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Doubles/Triples endorsement (required)
- 2+ years of CDL-A driving experience (OSOW or flatbed/heavy haul preferred)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and OSOW permitting
- Experience with load securement (chains, binders, tarps, etc.)
- Ability to travel for extended periods and work flexible schedules
- Clean driving record and commitment to safety
