Mr. Pick's Pet Waste Removal is hiring a reliable, dog-loving technician for our Friday route in Sarasota.
Earn the equivalent of $20–$25/hour working independently outdoors with dogs — no boss over your shoulder, no desk, just you, your route, and a lot of happy customers (and their dogs). We pay per completed yard rather than by the hour, which rewards efficient, high-quality work — and most technicians quickly earn more than they would in a traditional hourly role. We cover your gas, too.
If you enjoy working independently, staying active, and taking pride in doing great work, you'll probably love this role.
The PAWS Promise
At Mr. Pick's, we live by a specific set of values. We're looking for a team member who can commit to:
- P – Professional and Punctual: We pride ourselves on professionalism and being on time, every time.
- A – Attention to Detail: We are meticulous, from the cleanliness of our tools to the security of the property.
- W – Work with Integrity: We do the job right every time, even when no one is watching. No shortcuts.
- S – Safety and Security: The safety of our customers' pets and property is our top priority.
How the Pay Works
We pay per completed yard, which for a steady, reliable tech works out to about $20–$25 an hour — and it climbs as you get faster and your route grows. A starting Friday route runs ~12 yards (about 3.5–4 hours), and as you prove yourself, routes typically grow to 15–20+ yards a day — more yards, bigger paychecks. Here's how it breaks down:
- $5.00 per yard cleaned
- $2.00 per yard for optional sanitizing spray service
- $2.00 per yard Quality Bonus — our quality bonus rewards technicians who consistently complete clean, callback-free routes. Do great work and it adds up fast.
- Gas covered — we pay for your fuel, so more of your paycheck stays in your pocket
Guaranteed while you learn: For your first two Fridays on the route, we guarantee $18/hour or your per-yard earnings — whichever is greater — while you get comfortable with the route. After that, you're on per-yard pay, where efficient techs earn more.
Want More Days? Even Better.
This posting is for our Friday route (North & Central Sarasota) — but if you're reliable and want more work, there's room to pick up additional days right away. Here's our current weekly schedule:
- Monday – Bradenton (including Anna Maria Island, Cortez, and Longboat Key)
- Tuesday – North Port
- Wednesday – Venice, Nokomis, Osprey, and South Sarasota
- Thursday – Lakewood Ranch and Parrish (including Palmetto and Ellenton)
- Friday – North and Central Sarasota
Prove yourself dependable on Fridays and we'll happily add more days to your schedule. And as Mr. Pick's keeps growing, top-performing technicians get first crack at additional routes and increased earnings.

We keep it simple and straightforward:
- Phone Interview (15–20 min) — a quick call to get to know you and answer your questions.

- References — we'll ask for a couple of references who can speak to your reliability and work ethic.
- Offer — if it's a good fit on both sides, we'll make you an offer and get you started.
