National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program:
Through this program, full-time providers can receive up to $50,000 in tax-free loan repayment for an initial two-year service commitment, while half-time providers may receive up to $25,000 for a two-year commitment. These funds are applied toward qualifying student loans and are exempt from federal income and employment taxes.
Responsibilities
Promote dental health by performing the following duties:
- Clean teeth and examine patients for oral diseases such as gingivitis.
- Provide preventive dental care.
- Evaluate patients' oral health and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform dental prophylaxis.
- Perform scaling and root planing.
- Conduct oral cancer screenings.
- Perform radiographic studies (dental X-rays).
- Record and chart patient information electronically.
- Take vital signs as needed.
- Educate patients on ways to improve and maintain good oral health.
- Answer patient questions and provide helpful educational materials.
- Prepare treatment areas in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Prepare patients for treatment.
- Review patient records and evaluate oral health findings.
- Maintain, sterilize, and sharpen dental hygiene equipment and instruments.
- Precept and mentor students and residents as needed.
- Track patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information, including protected health information (PHI).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
