Independent Life Care Services (ILCS) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated bilingual Vietnamese/English professionals to join our growing team of Supported Living Services (SLS) Personal Assistants and Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors.
We currently have an immediate need for bilingual staff to support Vietnamese-speaking adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Orange County.

Position Details
- Location: Community-based positions serving consumers throughout Orange County, including South Orange County.
- Employment Type: Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
- Schedule: Flexible schedules based on both consumer needs and employee availability.
- Work Setting: Services are provided in consumers' homes and throughout the community.
- Travel: Employees travel directly from home to assigned consumer locations. ILCS makes every effort to assign consumers in reasonable geographic proximity to minimize travel whenever possible.
- Mileage Reimbursement: Paid mileage reimbursement for work-related travel between consumer locations and approved activities.
Fluency in both spoken Vietnamese and English is required for this position to ensure effective communication, person-centered support, and high-quality services.

Depending on each person's strengths, abilities, needs, preferences, and personal goals, our staff may teach new skills, provide coaching and encouragement, assist alongside the individual, or complete tasks that the person is unable to perform independently.
What You'll Do
No two days are exactly alike.
Depending on the consumer's needs and whether you are providing Supported Living Services (SLS) or Independent Living Services (ILS), you may:
- Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
- Support consumers in achieving their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals.
- Collaborate with each consumer's circle of support, including family members, day program staff, employers, educators, medical providers, friends, natural supports, and other service providers, as appropriate.
- Promote consumer rights, informed choice, self-determination, dignity, and independence.
- Assist with cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, and nutrition.
- Help develop budgeting and money management skills.
- Provide transportation to medical appointments, work, school, and community activities.
- Coach consumers in accessing community resources and public benefits.
- Support medication monitoring and medical appointment follow-up.
- Encourage healthy decision-making and problem-solving.
- Assist with household organization, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Support personal care activities, when appropriate to the consumer's needs.
- Encourage community participation, recreation, employment, education, volunteer opportunities, and social relationships.
- Complete service documentation and daily progress notes.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure high-quality, person-centered services.
- Build meaningful relationships with consumers and celebrate milestones as they gain confidence, independence, and achieve their personal goals.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Experience in Supported Living Services (SLS), Independent Living Services (ILS), caregiving, social services, behavioral health, education, rehabilitation, healthcare, or related human services preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using technology for documentation and communication.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in spoken Vietnamese and English (required).
This position serves consumers whose primary language is Vietnamese. Effective communication in both Vietnamese and English is an essential function of this position.
- A valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance are required.
