Job Overview
One Rig Design is growing industry leader in the snowmobile accessory industry. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including 3 & 4 axis and milling machines—to produce precision metal and plastic components. The candidate will work in both production and custom contract machining capacities. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a growing powersports product manufacturer and in a laid back and work-hard play-hard environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC mills, fiber lasers, 3D Printers and other machining tools to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes. Autodesk Fusion 360 experience is a bonus, but not required.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, ensuring precise measurement and adherence to tolerances using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to achieve desired dimensions and surface finishes.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process utilizing precision measurement instruments and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify part accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, adjusting machine parameters or tooling as needed for optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; assist with machine maintenance and setup procedures.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Experience
- Experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, Haas NGC experience is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and familiarity with CAM software for programming complex parts. Autodesk Fusion 360 is preferable.
- Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and understanding GD&T specifications for precision manufacturing.
- Familiarity with various machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and perform basic math calculations related to machining tolerances.
