Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at our long-term care and community health facility. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients across various settings, including assisted living, memory care, and acute care environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure the highest quality of patient care while supporting their comfort, safety, and dignity during every interaction. This position offers opportunities to work on second and third shifts, making a meaningful difference around the clock.
Duties
- Assist residents and patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track health status accurately.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques to promote comfort and engagement.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques in accordance with clinical standards.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records using EMR/EHR systems; ensure accuracy and completeness of medical documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient-centered care across diverse clinical environments including ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and behavioral health units.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification required; previous experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities is highly preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR) certification required.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Strong communication skills for caregiving roles; compassionate approach essential for working with vulnerable populations.
- Prior experience in assisted living, memory care, hospice care, or hospital settings—including ICU or trauma center experience—is highly desirable.
