JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Installation & Service Technician for Bradford Systems, your main focus will be to provide best in class customer service through delivery, install and servicing of customized storage, shelving, and material handling systems. Our systems are assembled at customer sites and include Vertical Lifts Modules (VLMs) as well as racking, conveyors and mezzanines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble and install Modula VLMs using a variety of hand and power tools. Assembly and installation include:
Mechanical components, structural sections, trays, safety devices, and system accessories.
Installing and connecting electrical components, controls, sensors, and peripheral devices.
Equipment alignment, leveling, anchoring, and final assembly.
Conducting startup, testing, and commissioning activities to verify proper system operation.
- Complete equipment inspections and quality checks prior to customer acceptance.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and/or respond to service calls
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues.
Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, PLC-controlled systems, safety circuits, and operator interfaces.
Replace defective components and perform system adjustments as required.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on proper equipment operation.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service findings and recommended repairs.
- Identify opportunities for service agreements, upgrades, and additional equipment enhancements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure accurate system installation and configuration
- Follow proper safety and jobsite requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to maintain detailed service records, job site reports, and customer communications.
- Be able to work independently or with a team.
- Follow direction from more experienced installers
- Complete manufacturer certified training in both classroom and online settings.
- Be able to travel overnight.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
- High School/Technical School Diploma
- Industrial electronics troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, industrial automation, and electromechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Computer skills
- Valid Driver’s license
REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility to travel, with occasional overnight (home on weekends)
- Punctual and dependable worker.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work as an effective team member.
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Use of scissor lift and forklift
