Position: Program Aide Housekeeping (Fresno, CA)
Hours: Full-time
We are a 24-hour facility - must be able to work any day of the week
2:00pm/4pm to 12:00am
Position:
To provide support to adult male residents with Mental Health Disabilities while conducting facility cleaning duties.
Duties:
- Observes and reports verbally and in writing to professional staff the behavior and physical state of residents; document observations of residents’ activity
- Encourage participation, oversee in Group Activities, and provide help with coping skills and communication skills as well as crisis resolution assistance.
- Assist in de-escalation of patients and redirection as needed to help maintain a safe environment.
- Assists with admissions, orientations, meals, and inventory of client’s belongings upon admission and discharge processing.
- Assist with meal preparations. Record food storage items as outlined by policy and procedure manual.
- Assist in maintaining resident’s personal hygiene rules are adhered.
- Monitor manage and log medications given to residents.
- Perform general facility cleaning and sanitation according to facility sanitation policies:
- Sweeping and mopping floors,
- _ Washing walls_
- _ Making beds_
- _ Vacuuming_
- _ Washing Dishes_
- _ Dusting_
- _ Cleaning Bathrooms and toilets_
- _ Laundry_
- Perform and assist residents in regular cleaning of their personal living space
- Monitor and assist residents in cleaning outdoor areas
- Provide any cooking and kitchen assigned duties
- Monitor resident’s social behavior and provide daily reports to attending management
- Daily Charting: Medication Records; Observation Notes; In/Outdoor Activities; Monitor and maintain social interaction between residents
- Maintain daily records
- Supervise visitors on the premises
Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate effectively in a non-defensive manner directly with patients is required.
- Must be able to pass FBI & DOJ background check (Live Scan)
- Health screening and TB test
- Able to communicate in oral and written forms in English is required.
- You must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, assisting with patient restraint and light to heavy lifting of cleaning equipment.
- Computer experience required
- You must have a minimum of two consecutive years of work experience working in a Board and Care for the mentally ill, Adult Day Health Center, or State Hospital.
- Previous experience working with mental health patients required.
- Experience leading behavior-based activities and discussion groups preferred.
