Duties
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas following established standards and procedures
- Handle chemical agents safely, understanding safety data sheets (SDS) and proper usage protocols
- Perform manual handling tasks such as making beds, moving furniture, and restocking supplies with proper ergonomic techniques
- Care for floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance
- Manage hotel housekeeping operations efficiently, including inventory control and coordinating with management for room readiness
- Follow hotel emergency procedures to ensure guest safety during incidents or safety concerns
- Conduct industrial cleaning tasks when necessary, utilizing appropriate custodial equipment and techniques
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or hotel housekeeping management
- Strong knowledge of chemical agent handling and safety protocols (SDS awareness)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely and effectively
- Expertise in floor care techniques including stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors
- Familiarity with hotel experience standards and hospitality industry best practices
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures to respond promptly to incidents or safety issues
- Skilled in custodial and industrial cleaning methods with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and management on housekeeping needs
- Demonstrated ability to manage housekeeping operations efficiently while ensuring guest satisfaction
