Engage with Senior Engineers for design reviews, troubleshooting, and implementing technical solutions associated with US Navy related acoustics systems
Performs a variety of moderately complex software and/or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design, or test nature
Participates on project teams and provides guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff
Plans, conducts, and may supervise research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification
Deployment, configuration, and use of hydrophones, sources and portable measurement/projection systems. Hands-on experience in the buildup, testing, debugging, and calibration of underwater acoustic systems
Perform detailed preparations, such as calibration injects, voltage measurements, current/resistance measurements, system integration, troubleshooting, compiling the data, and evaluating the results
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Ocean Engineering or similar degree
3+ years of experience with both acoustics and signal processing, to include a thorough understanding of acoustic measurement systems, in-water measurement arrays, the interfacing of hardware and the development of software
Experience with the factors that must be taken into consideration for in-water acoustics, such as: distance, sound speed in the water, sound velocity profile, absorption, spreading loss, reflection, sensitivity, or receive/projection patterns of hydrophones and sources
Real time acquisition and analysis of acoustic data from ships and submarines
Experience with underwater acoustic tracking systems and their operation
IAT II certification, ex., Security+
Experience with hydrophones, accelerometers, voltage, and interface types including IEPE, ICP, CVLD, and CCLD
