Position Summary
GEMCAP Logistics is looking for an Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations with a focus on real estate accounting and property-related transactions. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, efficient bookkeeping, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, real estate accounting processes, and a strong understanding of general accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and process customer billing, rent invoices, and property-related charges accurately and on schedule.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, tenant collections, and lease-related transactions.

Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across multiple properties or accounts.

Maintain and update general ledger entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and journal entries.

Track and reconcile property income and expenses, ensuring proper allocation by property or entity.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including financial statement preparation.

Maintain organized financial records for properties, leases, and vendor contracts.

Utilize QuickBooks Online for daily accounting operations, reporting, and account management.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to real estate assets.

Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Collaborate with property managers, leasing teams, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.

Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required).

Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

Experience with real estate accounting, including rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and property expense tracking preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
