Stark Truss was founded in 1963 and is a leading manufacturer and supplier of wood components for the construction industry. With over 60 years of experience supplying large multi-family and commercial developments, single family track and custom homes, agricultural buildings. Our construction product line includes roof and floor trusses, wall panels, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), I-joists, pre-built stairs, Stark Lam beams and connector hardware.
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for promoting and selling engineered wood products (EWP) to building supply dealers and design professionals within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building materials, structural framing systems, and customer relationship management.
Location Territory: New England and Eastern NY
Wage: Competitive salary wage. This full-time position will also receive commission pay
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with lumber dealers, builders, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Promote EWP solutions including I-joists, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), rim board, and related structural components.
- Conduct territory sales planning, including prospecting, cold-calling, and following up on leads.
- Deliver product presentations and training sessions to customers and prospects.
- Work closely with technical support teams to provide layout support, design assistance, and problem-solving for customer projects.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies to remain competitive.
- Attend industry trade shows, builder events, and training programs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of EWP products, framing systems, and construction practices highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and structural plans is a plus.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a flexible travel schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working with lumberyards or building supply dealers
- Familiarity with EWP software
