SUMMARY: Belkin Burden Goldman LLP, a highly regarded NYC real estate law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate with 5+ years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience to join our growing transactional real estate practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who can run leasing deals with meaningful independence, communicate directly with clients, and deliver excellent drafting and negotiation work across a wide range of asset classes. Experience with purchase and sale and financing transactions is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases for both landlord and tenant clients, including retail, office, industrial, restaurant, healthcare, and specialty use leases, in New York and nationally
- Manage transactions from initial term sheet through execution, including coordination with counterparties, brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Provide practical advice on key leasing issues, including operating expenses, build-out and construction, use clauses, defaults and remedies, assignment and subletting, guaranties, and risk allocation
- Independently handle day-to-day client interaction and maintain strong client relationships
- Assist, as needed, with related transactional matters, including:
- Purchase and sale transactions;
- Financing matters.
- Collaborate with partners and team members and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of deal execution
- Adhere to all firm policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILIITIES REQUIRED:
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
- Active New York State Bar license in good standing
- 5+ years of sophisticated commercial leasing experience, with the ability to independently draft and negotiate leases
- Experience handling a range of leasing transactions across asset classes
- Exposure to national leasing transactions is a plus
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions is a plus
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take ownership of work product
- Interest in business development and client relationship management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal technology tools
- Portable book of business is a plus, but not required

Compensation and title will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to years of experience involving these roles and responsibilities, portable book of business, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
