Under the direction of a MD, DO, NP, PA, the Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN will provide direct patient care, in accordance with physicians' orders, The Joint Commission, OSHA, nursing and department guidelines. The MA or LPN fulfills these duties to contribute to the continuity and quality of care, which fosters all patients and their families' best interests and well-being.
Duties include clinical and clerical including, but not limited to, rooming of patients, assisting with in-room procedures, setting up for clinic, ordering supplies, scheduling of testing, making referrals, and answering phone calls,
Position Requirements:
MA Required Education: High school diploma/GED plus a minimum of one year of experience providing patient care and/or working in a medical office required. Graduate of a medical assisting program preferred.
LPN Required Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
LPN & MA: Required Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in performing a variety of Routine patient care procedures and related administrative duties. .
LPN: Required Licensure/Certification: Current license from the WV State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses. Basic Life support (BLS) certification within probationary period.
MA: Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life support (BLS) certification within probationary period.
Physical Requirements: Heavy Work- Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
