Nuclear Outage Positions
These positions are at a Nuclear Power Plant in Oswego, NY in the Kitchen.
Please note this is a secure facility and all requirements for background, substance testing and computer training must be met to access the jobsite and be employed. This jobsite follows Federal Regulations for Nuclear Power plants. In order to be employed, you must qualify for access to the facility.
Substances that are illegal under Federal law (for example marijuana) are not allowed even if it is legal at a state level. Testing will be required and must be passed in order to receive clearance.
This is a temporary Outage position expected to last 1-3 months. During the outage the cafe will be open 7 days a week and weekends will be required. A permanent position is not guaranteed after the conclusion of the Outage but may be available.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Lead Cooks, Cooks and Food Service Workers to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food management, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock to meet menu demands.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Implement food handling procedures to maintain health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
- Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary department requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments for banquet services and special events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a restaurant or culinary environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices within a kitchen setting.
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare diverse dishes.
- Familiarity with dietary department guidelines and food handling regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with other departments.
