Responsibilities
- Carefully shuck oysters with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure safety and quality.
- Prepare and assemble seafood dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, maintaining consistency and presentation standards.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, portioning, and garnishing to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks related to food production and plating.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly, following safety standards in production.
- Collaborate with team members on menu planning ideas and contribute to a positive, energetic work environment focused on delivering excellent service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, particularly with seafood or oyster shucking preferred.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques necessary for oyster shucking and food prep.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Experience in culinary roles involving meal preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry.
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail during high-volume periods.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting colleagues.
