**Must possess an active Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) license from the New Jersey Department of Health.
**MINIMUM of one year of experience in REHS work required.
**Occasional evenings & weekends.
Performs sanitary inspections for compliance with public health and environmental protection regulations at food establishments, pools, youth camps, body art facilities, kennels, private wells, and onsite wastewater disposal systems. Investigates complaints of nuisances and potential violations of public health laws and ordinances for Bernards Township and contractual municipalities. Inspects food trucks and temporary food vendors at special events; weekend availability required. Collects food/water/soil samples and issues embargos when necessary. Produces clear, accurate, informative reports; maintains paper and electronic records of all surveys, inspections, and investigations. Must be able to work outside as needed in all types of weather. This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. Salary: $30-$34/HR.
