Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide high-quality care to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and support individuals with various medical and personal needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury. Experience with home & community care, long-term care, or assisted living environments is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent patient observation skills, compassion, and a strong understanding of medical terminology and safety protocols.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Help with meal preparation and nutritional needs tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and cleaning to maintain a safe environment
- Use Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of care provided
- Support clients with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or memory care
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively for patient transfers
- Maintain HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times
- Assist in catheter care and other specialized medical procedures as trained
- Support clients with disabilities through tailored caregiving approaches
Experience
- Prior experience in home health or community care settings is highly desirable
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring long-term care is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation practices is advantageous
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or hospice care are a plus
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes is beneficial
- Previous experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with diverse populations including those with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia
