CNC Operator / Helper
CNC Machining | Type: Full-Time | Level: Entry-Level
Location: Waller, TX
About the Role
We are looking for a CNC Operator/Helper to join our CNC department. This is an entry-level position with room to grow — you'll work alongside experienced machinists, supporting day-to-day shop operations while building your machining skills. We are willing to train the right candidate who shows initiative, follows directions, and keeps up with shop workflow.
This role is a great fit for someone with basic machine shop experience who wants to develop into a skilled CNC operator.
What You'll Do
- Prepare for upcoming jobs: locate, measure, and organize cutting tools
- Prepare raw materials and assist with machine setups
- Monitor machine cycles and safely load and unload parts
- Verify finished part dimensions using inspection tools such as calipers, OD micrometers, thread gages, and dial indicators (we will train, but you must know how to use a caliper)
- Operate a HAAS CNC mill (we will train candidates with basic machine shop experience)
- Perform basic post-machining tasks (deburring, cleaning, finishing)
- Keep your work area and CNC machines clean and well maintained
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Basic knowledge of a machine shop environment — for example, experience working alongside a machinist or as a shop helper
- Ability to use a caliper and basic measuring tools
- Basic math skills for measuring parts and understanding dimensions
- Reliable attendance and a strong team-player attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Nice to Have (Willing to Train):
- Experience operating a HAAS CNC mill or similar CNC equipment
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings
- Ability to make simple program edits
Pay: $16.00 per hour
