Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) – CVOR
- Location: Atlanta, GA
- Assignment Length: 16 Weeks
- Weekly Pay: Up to $3,024/week
- Start Date: Following completion of required privileging process
- Schedule: Days
- Shift: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Care Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Weekend Requirement: Only during scheduled call rotation
- Call Requirement: Approximately 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks
- Floating: Main OR within scope of practice as needed
Responsibilities
- Function as the Registered Nurse First Assistant during complex cardiovascular surgeries
- Assist surgeons with exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure
- Participate in open-heart, vascular, thoracic, and endovascular procedures
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment
- Operate specialized cardiovascular surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and operating room staff
- Monitor patient safety throughout surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate surgical documentation
- Participate in emergency call coverage for cardiovascular surgical cases
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (Georgia or Compact License)
- Current RNFA Certification
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RNFA experience
- Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, and Thoracic surgery experience required
- CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification required
- Ability to complete the required privileging process before assignment start
- First-time travelers are welcome
