Position Overview: This is an entry-level field position focused primarily on assisting with fuels reduction projects on private and public lands. The position involves a variety of vegetation management and outdoor property improvement tasks, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
Primary Responsibilities: - Assist with wildfire mitigation and fuels reduction projects, including: Brush cutting and vegetation removal - Limbing, thinning, and pruning Material stacking and organization - Chipping and debris management - Tree felling and basic technical tree rigging operations - Operate chainsaws, power equipment, and hand tools safely and efficiently - Work in remote locations, steep terrain, and varying weather conditions - Maintain a high standard of jobsite safety, cleanliness, and professionalism
Additional Responsibilities May Include: - Firewise landscaping and defensible space improvements - General landscaping and property maintenance - Outdoor construction projects, including decks, sheds, and other structures - Snow removal and winter property services
Qualifications / Requirements: - Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods - Comfortable working in steep, rugged, and remote environments - Willingness to work in all weather conditions - Reliable transportation and strong work ethic - Previous experience with chainsaws, landscaping, forestry, or construction is preferred but not required
Position Details: This position may be available as either part-time or full-time depending on the candidate’s availability and experience. Opportunities for training and advancement are available for motivated individuals.
