EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This role provides technical support for construction inspections, documentation reviews, and audit activities across transportation projects. You will assist with field reviews, material testing, and recordkeeping that help maintain compliance with department standards. As a Transportation Technician, you will perform the following duties:

Inspection Support: Assist in inspecting materials and field work to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements

Documentation Review: Examine project records and verify that quantities, calculations, and payments follow department standards

Audit Activities: Participate in audits of estimates and work orders to confirm correctness and proper documentation, as well as finding and resolving discrepancies

System Navigation: Use online database systems to support project documentation, reviews, and audits

Record Management: Help prepare, organize, and archive project documents according to department policy

Technical Assistance: Support construction personnel by reviewing specifications, sampling methods, and related requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Vendor controlled hours; schedule may be subject to change due to seasonal or operational needs

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).
