Sarcastic Swine BBQ is a small business in Abington, MA. We are seeking a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate must have 1 year of prior experience in field. For this position you must speak English! Must have experience in the food industry and possess strong culinary skills to assist in meal preparation and menu planning. Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Assist in cooking and preparing menu items according to recipes - Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly - Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
**Qualifications:*
- Proven experience as a Line Cook/Prep Cook or relevant role - Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Understanding of food safety practices - Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school is a plus
**Skills:**
- Food industry experience
- Knife skills for food preparation
- Culinary knowledge - Familiarity with food safety standards
- Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in food service is beneficial
