American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) Staffing Pool position in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and a night shift schedule.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) in a large, 815-bed hospital setting

Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

9-week contract

Active NC or Compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Current NIHSS certification required for PCU RNs

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if currently licensed in Florida or Missouri)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Work at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center recognized among America's 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades (2020–2023) and holding Magnet® Designation

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
