Job Title: Extrusion Line Operator- Night shift 12 hours 7pm-7AM (train on day shift)

Job Summary:
The Extrusion Line Operator plays a key role in the day-to-day production of high-quality extruded plastic products. Working under the direction of the Lead Operator/Maintenance Technician, this role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment to meet production targets and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate plastic extrusion lines and related equipment.
- Monitor line performance and make minor adjustments to maintain optimal productivity and product quality.
- Assist with startup, shutdown, and product changeovers.
- Load raw materials and monitor material flow throughout the production process.
- Perform routine in-process quality checks, including visual inspection, dimensional measurements, and documentation.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Work closely with the Lead Operator and other team members to maintain smooth production flow.
- Communicate any equipment issues, product inconsistencies, or safety concerns promptly.
- Support a team environment focused on accountability, mutual respect, and continuous learning.
Maintenance Support:
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment as directed.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor mechanical or material flow issues under the guidance of the Lead Operator.
- Identify and report equipment wear or abnormalities that may require maintenance attention.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company safety procedures, including the use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and safe material handling practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality guidelines, and production documentation protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (extrusion experience preferred).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment.
- Ability to read production documentation, tape measures, and calipers.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members.
Preferred:
- Experience operating plastic extrusion equipment.
- Familiarity with automated saws, grinders, or material handling systems.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- 12 hours 7PM to 7AM (train on days)
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
