About the Role :
We're looking for a Research Scientist to architect and deploy the machine learning models behind our laundry-folding robot. You'll own the full autonomy stack: from training manipulation models (imitation learning, RL, VLA) to deploying them on real robots in the home. You'll also extend cutting-edge research, refine our data pipelines, and collaborate closely with engineering to bring reliable, in-home robotics to life.
What You'll Do :
- Train, deploy, and maintain laundry folding models on physical systems
- Build autonomy for manipulation tasks using imitation learning, RL, VLA, and world models
- Develop our teleoperation/data collection stack and simulation pipelines
- Reproduce and extend cutting-edge robotics research
- Test, debug, and iterate on real robots in our lab
- Collaborate closely with our engineering team
- Work flexible shifts including nights/weekends as needed
What We're Looking For :
- Current PhD students, postdoc, or recent PhD grad in robotics, ML, or a related field
- Publications at top conferences/journals (NeurIPS, ICRA, RSS, CoRL, T-RO, Science, Nature, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of robot learning: imitation learning, RL, and classical control
- Experience deploying models on physical systems, especially for manipulation tasks like folding
- Can lead work with minimal guidance in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- Values good design and consumer sensibility in robotics
- Communicates clearly and concisely
- From a top 20 global university
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee stock purchase plan
- Health insurance
- Relocation assistance
- Unlimited paid time off
Work Location: In person
