Position Description
Attorney Adam Burke LLC is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to support the firm’s planned expansion into the Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio market.
This role is intended for an attorney with strong criminal defense experience, especially in felony matters, who can help the firm serve clients in Cincinnati, Dayton, and nearby counties. The attorney will work closely with the firm’s existing Columbus-based legal team while helping establish local court coverage, client support, and case presence in the Cincinnati market.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience representing clients in Ohio criminal courts, understands the pace and urgency of criminal defense work, and is comfortable handling cases from intake through resolution. Experience with felony cases is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including misdemeanor, felony, DUI/OVI, and related criminal cases.
- Appear in courts throughout Cincinnati, Dayton, and surrounding Southwest Ohio counties as needed.
- Conduct client consultations and case strategy discussions.
- Review police reports, discovery, pleadings, and case documents.
- Prepare for hearings, pretrials, negotiations, and trial-related proceedings.
- Communicate clearly with clients, court personnel, prosecutors, and internal team members.
- Coordinate with the firm’s Columbus-based attorneys, intake team, and legal assistants.
- Help the firm evaluate and build operational presence in the Cincinnati market.
- Support a high standard of responsiveness, professionalism, and client care.
Qualifications
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the Ohio Bar.
- Criminal defense experience required.
- Felony criminal defense experience strongly preferred.
- DUI/OVI, misdemeanor, and traffic-related criminal defense experience preferred.
- Prior courtroom experience in Cincinnati, Dayton, Hamilton County, Montgomery County, or nearby Southwest Ohio courts preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with a growing, systems-driven law firm.
- Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a remote or hybrid legal team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing familiarity with Hamilton County, Montgomery County, Butler County, Warren County, Clermont County, or nearby court systems.
- Federal criminal defense experience or eligibility to handle federal matters is a plus.
- Interest in helping build and grow a new local market for the firm.
Work Arrangement
This role may begin as a market coverage role while the firm evaluates and expands its Cincinnati presence. The attorney should be based in or near Cincinnati, Dayton, or the broader Southwest Ohio area and be available for in-person court appearances as required.

Pay: $75,169.00 - $83,410.00 per year
