Position Overview: As a caregiver at Orchid Meadows, you will support residents in their daily living needs, ensure their safety, and contribute to a warm and positive environment. Ideal candidates have experience working in a 6-bed RCFE and are compassionate, reliable, and attentive.
Responsibilities:
Resident Care
- Assist with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
- Provide safe mobility support and transfers
- Offer respectful, resident-centered care
Medication Assistance
- Administer medications per schedule
- Maintain accurate medication records
Meal Support
- Assist with meal prep, cooking, feeding, and hydration
- Monitor food intake and report concerns
Emotional & Social Support
- Provide companionship
- Engage residents in conversation and simple recreational activities
Safety & Emergency Response
- Identify hazards and ensure a safe environment
- Respond quickly to emergencies and document incidents
Housekeeping
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and keeping resident rooms clean and comfortable
Documentation & Communication
- Keep accurate care records
- Communicate effectively with staff and, when appropriate, resident families
- Relay important information when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of state-required RCFE training
- Previous caregiving experience (RCFE preferred)
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow care plans, instructions, and protocols
- Basic First Aid & CPR
- Must be 18+, with required health screening, TB clearance, and criminal record clearance
Administrator-Specific Requirements (if applicable)
- Age 21+
- Required screenings and clearances
- High school diploma/GED
- 20 hours/year of continuing education related to aging or administration
- Must be present on-site enough hours to meet job responsibilities
Work Setting
- Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Small, stable, 6-bed environment
- 8-10 hour shift with 1 hour break time
- Full-time availability (Friday night - Monday Morning)

Weekend shift (Friday night - Monday Morning)
Start 7 am
- Day Shift (Preferred)
- Night Shift (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
