Overview
We are seeking a licensed Registered Pharmacist (RPh) to provide safe, accurate, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing and dispensing prescriptions, counseling patients on medication use, monitoring therapy for safety and effectiveness, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. This role also includes supervising pharmacy staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing medication inventory, and ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and patient care.
Duties
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, administration, and drug interactions to promote safe and effective therapy.
- Monitor medication therapy, identify drug-related problems, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records, prescription documentation, medication inventory, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications according to established pharmacy procedures and quality standards.
- Supervise, train, and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff while ensuring efficient daily pharmacy operations.
- Educate patients on medication adherence, preventive healthcare services, and the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters..
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university with a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practice and patient-centered care.
- Active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in good standing with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy and comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management (MTM), drug utilization review, controlled substance regulations, medication safety, and quality assurance practices.
- Exceptional patient counseling, clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound therapeutic recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff while maintaining efficient pharmacy operations and high standards of patient care.
- Proficiency in prescription verification, pharmacy management systems, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and clinical documentation with strong attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and high-quality pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced environment.
