Overview
Our family owned Jewelry Store is growing and we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Jeweler to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and customizing jewelry pieces with precision and artistry. Your expertise will help ensure each piece meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship, delighting customers and elevating their jewelry experience. Duties
- Interpret and analyze mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately craft or repair jewelry pieces.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and soldering stations to shape, assemble, and finish jewelry components.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate dimensions in every project.
- Perform welding techniques including TIG welding, MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding to join metals securely according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Fabricate metal components from sheet metal or other materials using fabrication shop experience and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Interpret technical schematics and blueprints related to metal fabrication, pipe threading, ductwork, or mechanical assembly to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all operations involving power tools, rigging, machining, plasma cutting, or welding processes.
- Assist with construction site tasks when necessary by utilizing construction site experience and crane operation skills for lifting or positioning heavy materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all safety regulations related to ASME codes & standards and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in jewelry fabrication or metalworking with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication principles.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and shop math for precise craftsmanship.
- Proficiency with welding techniques including TIG welding, MIG welding, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding—familiarity with AWS standards is preferred.
- Experience operating power tools such as press brakes, plasma cutters, soldering stations, and machining equipment like lathes or mills.
- Knowledge of construction site procedures is a plus; familiarity with rigging and pipe threading is advantageous.
- Ability to read technical schematics related to ductwork or mechanical systems; understanding of ASME codes & standards is beneficial.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent hand tool skills along with precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for detailed work.
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times during fabrication or assembly processes.
Pay is competitive and based on certifications and experience.
Jewelers are expected to work a 40 hour work week. Paid hour lunch breaks are provided.
Hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:30pm. Saturdays are optional.
