Position Summary: The QC Laboratory Technician works as part of a collaborative team conducting chemical analyses and experiments to develop new knowledge, materials, processes and products. The Laboratory Technician demonstrates initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and proper procedures while assisting and supporting the laboratory–based investigations by undertaking a range of routine technical and experimental tasks

· Analyzes raw materials, intermediate preparations and finished goods to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, identification, and quality utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy and spectrophotometry techniques.
· Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Ensures data is properly and accurately recorded in laboratory notebooks or appropriate documents in accordance with guidelines. Develops and maintains effective organization and time management through use of effective record keeping.
· Records, interprets and analyzes data, and reports results in a timely manner.
· Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting appropriate corrective steps.
· Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
· Tests raw materials, in-process, and finished products for quality control release.
· Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position in compliance with all policies or regulations.
· Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples, test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct test.
· Maintains glassware by picking up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing.
· Keeps up-to-date with relevant scientific and technical developments
Experience:
· At least one year previous practical laboratory work experience preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Good organizational skills and ability to manage job duties.
Language Ability: Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
Mathematical Ability: Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and email.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work also requires some physical strain such as long periods of standing and walking in production facility and lifting of moderately heavy items such as test equipment kits and product cases. Other physical demands include climbing, crouching, and reaching.
