Shift: 3:30 PM/4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Midnight)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Imaging Specialist to join our medical records team in Hicksville, NY. Under the general supervision of the Medical Records Manager, the Imaging Specialist will be responsible for preparing, scanning, and indexing laboratory and medical documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
This position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with electronic records, and interested in supporting healthcare operations behind the scenes.
Prepare medical and laboratory documents for scanning and electronic storage.
Scan and accurately index documents according to established procedures.
Review scanned documents for completeness, legibility, and proper organization.
Prepare transfiles for storage and maintain organized records.
Retrieve and deliver laboratory documents as assigned.
Assist with the destruction of outdated laboratory records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and security of patient and laboratory information.
Follow established medical records, document management, and quality-control procedures.
Work collaboratively with the Medical Records team and other departments as needed.
Perform additional records-related duties as assigned by the Medical Records Manager.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential medical and laboratory information appropriately.
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic records systems.
Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned evening shift.
Previous laboratory records or medical records experience.
Experience with document scanning, indexing, filing, or electronic medical records.
Previous healthcare, laboratory, hospital, or medical office experience.
