Overview
Laswell Electric Company is seeking an experienced Licensed Commercial Electrician to join our team. This position will primarily work on commercial renovation projects.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, understands commercial electrical systems, and takes pride in completing quality work safely and efficiently.
Job Duties
- Perform electrical installations for commercial renovation and new construction projects
- Install and terminate branch circuits, feeders, panels, disconnects, transformers, and other electrical equipment
- Install and work with MC cable, EMT conduit, and other raceway systems
- Bend and install EMT conduit using hand and mechanical benders
- Pull, terminate, and identify conductors
- Install lighting fixtures, lighting controls, receptacles, switches, and other electrical devices
- Perform panel changes, service upgrades, and electrical equipment replacements
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
- Layout electrical installations based on drawings and field conditions
- Troubleshoot existing commercial electrical systems
- Perform demolition and modifications of existing electrical systems during renovations
- Coordinate work with general contractors and other trades on active jobsites
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Follow NEC requirements, project specifications, and company safety procedures
- Accurately communicate material needs, job progress, and field conditions to project management
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining Laswell's quality standards
Requirements
- Previous commercial electrical experience required
- Strong experience with MC cable and EMT conduit installations
- Must be able to bend EMT conduit accurately
- Ability to read and understand commercial electrical drawings
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a crew
- Must be dependable and able to maintain regular attendance
- Strong attention to workmanship and jobsite safety
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to safely use ladders, lifts, power tools, and standard electrical tools
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment typically required for commercial electrical work
- Journeyman-level commercial electrical experience
- Experience working on occupied commercial renovation projects
- Experience with both renovation and ground-up commercial construction
- Experience installing and troubleshooting 120/208V and 277/480V systems
- Experience with lighting controls, transformers, panels, and commercial distribution systems
- Electrical License Required

The right person should be comfortable working in existing commercial buildings where field conditions may require troubleshooting, planning, and adapting the installation while still meeting code and project requirements.
Pay: $44.27 - $49.10 per hour
