- Level II - Licensed Technologist
Salary: $87,872
Ideal for newly experienced technologists as well as new grads looking to expand their knowledge, skills and looking to grow
- Level III – Senior Technologist / Lead
Salary: $103,430
Ideal for experienced technologists interested in mentoring staff, overseeing workflows, participating in quality assurance, and supporting laboratory operations.
- Level IV – Laboratory Supervisor
Salary: $114,764
For strong laboratory leaders with supervisory experience who can oversee staff, schedules, quality programs, compliance initiatives, and day-to-day laboratory operations.
What You’ll Do
Depending on assignment level, responsibilities may include:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing and analyses
- Process specimens and prepare slides, smears, cultures, and reagents
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Participate in quality assurance, proficiency testing, and regulatory readiness
- Perform microbiology, chemistry, or hematology-related procedures
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records
- Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory personnel
- Support workflow optimization and laboratory operations
- Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
- Participate in process improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications
Level I
- NYS limited or provisional permit as a:
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Cytotechnologist
- Histotechnologist
Level II
- Valid NYS license as a:
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Cytotechnologist
- Histotechnologist
Level III
- Meets Level II requirements
- At least 1 year of clinical laboratory or blood bank experience
Level IV
- Meets Level II requirements
- Must meet NYS laboratory supervisor qualifications under NY Public Health Law Section 58-1.4
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
Preferred Experience
- Hospital or acute care laboratory experience
- ASCP certification preferred
- Histology, cytology, microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood bank, or pathology experience
- Experience with quality control, CAP/CLIA inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Leadership or supervisory experience for advanced levels
