Job Summary
SYNCADD Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time, on-site Building Survey Technician to support facility survey and inventory work at Fort Drum, NY. This role supports ePRISMS, the Army's enterprise solution for space utilization management, which provides visibility into floor plans, maps, and readiness data.
You will own the full lifecycle of facility data capture, from on-site building surveys through final floor plan creation. Fieldwork involves physically surveying buildings and facilities using mobile computing and laser measurement tools to accurately measure exterior and interior spaces, and documenting detailed space information such as room usage, occupying units, and staffing levels. Fieldwork requires walking and standing for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Before fieldwork begins, you will coordinate survey activities (building and facility access, priorities, schedule, and timeline) with Government personnel. Afterward, you will post-process the data and develop floor plans using CAD software based on your field findings. All pre-fieldwork and post-fieldwork activities are performed on site at the Fort Drum office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed facility surveys using laser measurement tools and mobile computing devices
- Collect, validate, and document building, occupancy, and space-use data
- Update and verify existing floor plans, noting and documenting discrepancies
- Convert field survey data into accurate, detailed floor plans using CAD tools (e.g., MicroStation)
- Perform quality control to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Interact professionally with military and civilian personnel
- Learn and apply Army real property management processes, terminology, and system requirements to ensure compliance
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Fort Drum installation access (due to federal contract requirements)
- Valid state driver's license
- Physically able to stand and walk six to eight hours per day and work outdoors in all seasons
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and a quick learner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; team-oriented
- Ability to work full-time on site at Fort Drum, NY, during required Government operating hours
Preferred Qualifications
These are nice to have, not required. Training is provided.
- Associate degree or certificate in CAD, drafting, surveying, engineering technology, or a related field
- Experience with MicroStation, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
- Background in CAD, drafting, surveying, or GIS
- Familiarity with DoD or federal real property management and military protocols
- Prior military experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position is performed on site at Fort Drum, NY, and combines indoor office work with field surveys of buildings and facilities. Fieldwork requires walking and standing for up to eight (8) hours per day, navigating stairwells and mechanical spaces, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience, and includes health care and retirement benefits. A relocation allowance is not provided for this position.
