Responsibilities
- Assist a dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry and prosthodontics using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed.
- Manage patient records efficiently.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure a positive experience.
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow seamlessly.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience working in a dental environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across various specialties including prosthodontics.
- Competence in taking X-rays.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients.
