Dog Adventure Walker & Boarding Attendant
Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Wet Noses Dog Services is looking for a reliable, outdoorsy human to join our team as a Dog Adventure Walker & Boarding Attendant.
This role is primarily focused on small group hiking adventures and neighborhood walks, with additional hands-on time caring for dogs in a home boarding environment. If you love being outside, working primarily independently, and spending your day with dogs instead of behind a desk, this might be a great fit.
What the job looks like:
- Leading small group dog adventures (typically 3 dogs) on local trails and parks
- 1-hour and 30-minute neighborhood walks
- Safely transporting dogs to and from adventure locations
- Attending to dogs in a home boarding setting (feeding, supervision, basic care, maintaining a calm environment)
- Monitoring group dynamics and ensuring safe, structured outings
- Communicating updates and notes through our scheduling app
Schedule:
- Typical schedules range from 10–20 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours during busy seasons and boarding periods
- Weekday availability between 8:00am and 5:00pm
- Weekend availability is required, though not every weekend will be scheduled
- Occasional evenings depending on schedule and boarding needs
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on dog experience (required)
- Comfortable handling multiple dogs at once in a variety of environments
- Strong awareness of dog behavior and body language
- Reliable vehicle with sufficient space to safely transport 2–3 dogs
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
- Ability to be active outdoors in all weather conditions
What we're looking for:
Someone who is dependable, observant, and genuinely enjoys being with dogs. This role requires good judgment, confidence handling different personalities, and the ability to stay calm and in control of a group.
We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position and building relationships with our clients and their dogs.
Because we prioritize consistency and long-term relationships for our clients and their dogs, this role isn't compatible with individuals who are actively providing dog walking services independently or through other pet care companies in the same service area.
Location
North Shore MA including Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, Beverly, and surrounding areas.
Pay
$18–$20 per hour depending on experience, plus mileage reimbursement and occasional tips.
