Clinical Research Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our clinical research team and support the day-to-day conduct of our clinical studies. In this role, you will manage a range of essential study activities — including scheduling and conducting participant visits, performing phlebotomy, processing and shipping samples, and ensuring accurate data collection and recordkeeping, all while maintaining compliance with Good Clinical Practice standards. Just as important, you'll deliver a positive, professional experience to every study participant. This on-site role is available full-time, with part-time considered for the right candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
- Schedule study participant visits and complete study procedures, including phlebotomy, sample processing and shipping, vital signs, medical history, and medication history collection.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting, with prompt responses to data queries.
- Maintain accurate, complete source documents for all research procedures.
- Manage all filings, including reports and source documents placed in each subject's binder.
- Conduct all research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and applicable law.
- Participate in all required training and education programs.
- Ensure study communication is consistently documented and shared with the appropriate team members promptly, per GCP guidelines.
- Perform health and safety checks within the clinical site.
Schedule
- Full-time preferred; part-time considered for the right candidate.
- Daytime hours only.
- Office operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday (closed Monday and Sunday).
Qualifications and Skills
- Active California Phlebotomy License (CPT-I) required.
- Background as a Certified Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or an Associate's degree in a science-related field — or equivalent research experience — preferred.
- Excellent bedside manner with study participants, particularly older adults.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Intermediate computer literacy with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Fluency in English required.
- Neat, legible handwriting.
