Duties
- Prepare and assemble menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, including pizza toppings, sauces, and side dishes
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, mixers, and food prep stations safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas by following food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols
- Assist in food production tasks like braising, poaching, grilling, and other cooking techniques to ensure timely meal preparation
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients in accordance with dietary guidelines and customer preferences
- Ensure accurate portioning and presentation of dishes to uphold the restaurant’s quality standards
- Follow all food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and knife skills is advantageous
- Experience with high-volume production environments helps ensure efficiency during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety procedures, including sanitizing protocols and proper food handling practices, is essential
- Prior experience in menu planning or dietary department roles can be beneficial for understanding customer dietary needs and recipe adherence
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to operate kitchen equipment safely are key for success in this role
