The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District is seeking a dedicated, organized, and student-focused Child Care Director to lead and oversee the Child Care Center, district's before-school, after-school, and summer child care programs. This individual will provide leadership in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while ensuring high-quality programming, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service for families. The Child Care Director will work collaboratively with district staff, families, and community partners to develop programs that support children's academic, social, and emotional growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and daily management of the district's child care programs.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate child care staff.
- Develop staff schedules and ensure appropriate staffing ratios are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing requirements and applicable regulations.
- Develop engaging educational and recreational programming for children.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Manage program registration, enrollment, attendance, and family communication.
- Prepare and monitor program budgets, purchasing, and financial records.
- Build positive relationships with families and serve as the primary contact for program questions and concerns.
- Coordinate with school administrators to align child care programming with district goals.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and licensing documentation.
- Ensure proper health, safety, and emergency procedures are followed.
- Pursue continuous improvement through staff development and program evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing child care, youth programming, or educational programs preferred.
- Wisconsin Child Care Administrator credentials or the ability to obtain required qualifications.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin DCF licensing regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency with computer applications and child care management software is preferred.

District Description: The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District is a small rural school district in Sheboygan County. The district connects community children to the Resorter family by offering a childcare program, and a wide variety of high-level learning and extra-curricular opportunities through Grade 12. The District had the 5th highest DPI District Report Card score in Wisconsin for the 2024-2025 school year, scoring in the "Significantly Exceeds Expectations" category. The district has a student population of 530 students. Many of these students open-enroll to the district to take advantage of the small class sizes, caring staff, one-on-one attention, and quality class offerings. The District employs 75 dedicated and talented professional staff members who work in a positive and collaborative environment. Our School Board and community are very supportive of the district, as evidenced by a history of passed referendums. Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
